individual apartments/common spaces in Patras’ apartment buildings

Fictional Interweaving – Factual Occurrences

Διδασκαλία: Μαρία Κόντη

Project A

Unseen territories of infinite microcosms in private apartments.

The project is based on Aleph, by Jorge Luis Borjes.

Project B

Common use spaces in apartment buildings: A Paraphrasis

Black and white squares on a chessboard are originally meaningless lest for the time the chessman engenders action.

Punctuation marks alone can not cause narration or events, but it is rather their appearance or/and repetition within a text field that gives rise to rhythm and flow.

Common use spaces in apartment buildings such as:

entrance – name tableau – staircase – roof – elevator – airshaft – pilotis – heat generator can only become (inter-)active when incidents occur.

In the context of this (inter-)active feature, space phobias may arise i.e.:

Agoraphobia – Claustrophobia – Acrophobia – Hypsophobia

A common use space is rather like an empty container that can be filled with anything at will. Therefore the students are asked to fill this “container” with their individual scenario.
